KEIKO

Membership

The first 3 classes are free, and you're fully insured during these.

If you decide to become a member of the dojo then these are our prices:

  • kyu degrees pay 275 euro per school-year (1st of September until 1st of July)
  • dan degrees pay 325 euro per school-year (1st of September until 1st of July).

If you become a member during the course of a school-year then your membership fee will be calculated individually.

Most of the sportshalls in Ghent close during July & August, some people go on holidays, there are less classes,... So during these summer-months a small fee has to be paid in cash per individual training. The place(s), dates & hours of these summer-classes, as well as the correct fee, are shared with all members in May or June of each year.

All membership fees have to be paid using the following account number:

(IBAN) BE92973011668023 - “Jinenkan Gent”
Always mention your name!

If your payment has been done then you are also insured (via Fros). If, after your 3 free trainings, we haven't received your membership fee , then we can no longer allow you to participate in any of our classes.

There is another option if you only train irregularly - in this case we can offer you a card for 10 classes, which costs 50 euro (to be paid using the account number mentioned above). Insurance is not included when buying this card, so you will need to pay this additionally (which is then valid from September until September, no need to pay this again when buying a new 10-classes card).

All paying members receive 10% discount in this shop: Martial Sports (Antwerp). You can order online if so desired (please register first and specifically mention you're a member of our dojo).

After three months of training (or sooner when you're taking a test before 3 months have passed) it is mandatory to become a member of the Jinenkan-federation:

  • "associate member": 5.000 yen per year
  • "full member": 15.000 yen per year (mandatory from shodan on).

As a Jinenkan-member you're entitled to test for a rank, you're allowed to wear the Jinenkan-patches on your gi, you enjoy discounts on seminars, and you receive Jinenkan newsletters and articles.

Where & When

With the exception of school- & other holidays, there are 2 set trainings per week.

You'll learn what the training-topics specifically are once you're a member of the dojo.

Please contact us in advance if you're a new student and would like to try out a few classes.

Apart from these two set training-evenings there's also the possibility of private classes on a regular basis. And every few months there are seminars, both in Ghent itself and elsewhere.

If you want to train more maybe you can check out one of our several “shibu dojo”.

(For example, and also in Ghent: the wakaba dojo).

And last but not least we expect that you're exercising on your own as well (cardio, flexibility, functional/explosive power-training).
